Materia Scientia LLC is an Australian-based chemical trading and supply chain solutions company. We source and distribute chemicals, materials, and related products from global suppliers to customers across industries including mining, water treatment, manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals.

Our supply chain includes:

  • Logistics providers, freight forwarders, and shipping partner.
  • Local warehousing and distribution services.

Risks of Modern Slavery

Given the global nature of the chemical and logistics industry, we recognise potential risks of modern slavery in:

  • Manufacturing and raw material sourcing in higher-risk jurisdictions
  • Contracted logistics, shipping, and port services
  • Subcontracting in warehousing and ancillary services

Actions Taken to Address Risks

Materia Scientia LLC has taken the following steps to address modern slavery risks:

  • Implemented supplier due diligence processes, including mandatory compliance withvlabour and human rights standards.
  • Required suppliers to confirm adherence to REACH, ISO, GHS, and international human rights conventions.
  • Introduced contractual clauses requiring transparency and the right to audit suppliers.
  • Conducted risk-based assessments to identify high-risk regions and categories.
  • Established internal training for staff to recognise and report modern slavery risks.

Assessing Effectiveness

We monitor compliance through supplier evaluations, document reviews, and feedback from staff and industry partners. Over time, we will develop measurable KPIs, including
supplier compliance rates and risk remediation outcomes.

Consultation & Engagement

We work closely with our suppliers, logistics partners, and industry bodies to improven awareness and collaborative responses to modern slavery.
