Refunds, Returns & Shipping Policy

At Materia Scientia LLC, we are committed to providing high-quality chemicals, materials, and procurement solutions. This policy outlines our approach to refunds, returns, and shipping in line with Australian Consumer Law and international best practices.
Refunds
Refunds will be provided where required by the Australian Consumer Law (ACL),
such as for products that are:
- Faulty, unsafe, or damaged on arrival
- Not of acceptable quality
- Not matching their description or agreed specifications
Refunds are not available for change of mind, incorrect handling, or where products
have been opened, used, or altered after delivery.
Returns
- Requests for returns must be made within 7 business days of delivery.
- Products must be returned in their original, sealed, and unopened packaging with all documentation, including Certificates of Analysis (COA) or Safety Data Sheets (SDS) if supplied.
- Due to the nature of chemicals, we cannot accept returns of hazardous or temperature-sensitive products unless they were supplied incorrectly or are defective.
- Customers are responsible for all return freight costs unless the error was ours.
Shipping & Delivery
- We ship orders within Australia and internationally, subject to compliance with relevant export and import regulations.
- Shipping times and costs vary depending on order size, product type, and destination. Estimated delivery timelines will be provided at order confirmation.
- Risk and ownership of goods transfer to the customer upon delivery, unless otherwise specified in the sales contract.
- Customers are responsible for ensuring proper storage facilities and handling procedures are in place upon receipt.
Damaged or Incorrect Deliveries
- Any claims for damage, shortage, or incorrect supply must be reported within 48 hours of delivery.
- Supporting evidence such as photographs or delivery dockets may be required.
- We will investigate and arrange replacement, refund, or credit as appropriate.
Non-Returnable Items
For safety and regulatory reasons, the following cannot be returned unless faulty or incorrectly supplied:
- Hazardous chemicals (classified under GHS or DG regulations
- Temperature-controlled or perishable chemical
- Custom or special-order products
Governing Law
This Refunds, Returns & Shipping Policy is governed by the laws of Western Australia and the Commonwealth of Australia, and must be interpreted in line with Australian Consumer Law.
